Rourk House - A Historical Adventure

We booked the Rourk House because we wanted something different, and it exceeded our expectations. The house has so much history, character, and personality. Every room has something interesting to discover, and you can tell great care has been taken to preserve the home’s charm while still making it comfortable for guests. One of our favorite parts was being able to park the car and simply walk to lunch at Duffer’s. We enjoyed a cold beer and a bite to eat *the French Dip was excellent* by the way! We also loved starting our mornings with fresh croissants from Burney’s Bakery just down around thr corner. The location was incredibly convenient. The grocery store was less than five minutes away, there were plenty of restaurant options nearby, and we were still close enough to enjoy the beach whenever we wanted. It was the perfect balance of having easy access to Holden Beach and Ocean Isle Beach while being able to escape the constant hustle and bustle of the islands. The home was clean, spacious, and unlike any rental we’ve stayed in before. Staying at the Rourk House felt like experiencing a piece of Shallotte’s history, and it made our trip even more memorable. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique coastal getaway.
